Scramble Chester Mountain Sept 3, 2022

Cooling our feet at Chester Lake with Mt Chester behind

Good trail to treeline and then steep hard black dirt to col. Many trails versus last time. From col trail leads off to right but best to only follow 100 or 200 m to orange broken rock layers and pound up to the left. Follow left slanting rock outcrops up for 100 m up which leads to cairns and switchback trails through many little rockbands. some scrambling on rockbands and lots of cairns and broken rock trail leads to summit. On descent – Easiest to descend up track as to left is more blocky rock on slabs vs nice scree. not much solid footing on this one.
