Mount Cascade, Banff Scramble July 8, 2016

Norquay Ski Hill from Cascade Mountain – Traverse on East side of False Summit. This is what you see from Banff to make too much snow go/no go decision.

Mount Cascade Scramble Banff False summit traverse bypass crux – see trail base of rock and red dots on scramble step around at LH side of close end of rock.

Needed rehab/exercise so thought I would go up until it started raining and made it to summit. A few changes since previous times as there has been so much traffic. Section between first summit and traverse is messed up with lots of trails and even the traverse has several partial trails. Very good dry trail(as of yesterday) along the RH and front of the false summit and some red/pink rectangles. Great exercise although my mind had blocked out the talus, the switchbacks and the slog back up from the bridge. Note this is closer to 1600 m with the elev losses and regains.
