We went further along the trail than suggested by Daffern or Kane in order to try intersect the ridge further along past the saddle and to avoid the notorious rubble slopes on the sides. We went up through the trees on a ramp on the east side of the major

Poor pic but shows the point we went past and the upper ridge which is all rubble from either direction. We came down by this col which was not an easier way off the ridge. We then had to go down a strip of open grass along the west side of the big draina

At south end of summit ridge before 1st downclimb. That ridge was all rubble as well. The brown point we came over to the left. Golf course and village in distance.

Point we came over - our tracks faintly visible slanting down to right from halfway back on the side.

From south end of summit ridge looking at a false summit and with none of the difficulties visible although we are standing on the first buttress and the first downclimb is 10 feet ahead.

Summit ridge from side for perspective. Biggest/hardest downclimb at start and 6? more to go with a couple of slabs to climb and one 20 m section of knife edge. The slabs would have been tricky to downclimb if wet on the way back.

1st buttress downclimb - went down near front edge/nose and back to left on ledges. Sonny and Alan Kane both have good pics of this.
